If you’re a fan of alpinism, you’ll know how important it is to carry a functional daypack that holds all your essential items; which is why German magazine BERGSTEIGER put twelve of them through their paces, including Jack Wolfskin’s Mountaineer 30 daypack.
The packs were reviewed on their weight, functionality, available space, how well they sit on the body and whether they allow freedom of movement. In addition, the packs were also tested on its performance during the ascent and descent and whether ski accessories could be attached to them.
The Mountaineer 30 cut a fine figure during the test and we’re pleased to say it received very high marks for stability and carry comfort. The pack was also praised as a pack for longer hikes, getting top marks as a result. Its removable back frame, which reduces the weight of the bag, also received a special mention.
The magazine concluded: “The Mountaineer 30 is a simple, lightweight backpack; ideal for weekend tours with a secure fit and quick, one-hand fastening”.
