Having the perfect walking boot is not the only necessity when it comes to ensuring comfort on an expedition. The socks you wear underneath them are just as important.

Adventure Travel magazine recently put six ‘super socks’ to the test, including our very own Deviator Alpine Socks.

Described as ‘waspish little goodies’ due to their colour, the test highlighted the micro-blend fabric called Dri-Release which removes sweat from the skin faster than any other fabric and eliminates odour.

Scoring an overall rating of 8 out of 10, the socks were also commended for their light-weight properties – “…the sock is significantly lighter (in sock terms) than most of the others in the test, and if you’re saving weight then every gramme will count.’’
