Each week, Jack Wolfskin will highlight all the best products from the new Spring-Summer 2012 collection.
To kick things off, we’re highlighting the CLOUD STREAM JACKET this week.
The Cloud Stream Jacket is a lightweight hiking jacket that is both exceptionally breathable and waterproof, making it the ideal solution for mountain hikes and tours of one or more days which require light gear.
By using Texapore Air O2+ Taslan 2L, which is making its debut this summer, the jacket combines the durability and texture of the Taslan material with the dynamic breathability of Texapore Air. The coating on the outer surface is completely waterproof and air-permeable. As such, the Texapore Air material always adapts the degree of breathability to the level of exertion. This allows for a maximum moisture vapour transmission rate of 15,000g/m2/24 h, thus ensuring superior comfort, regardless of exertion level.
The Cloud Stream Jacket offers optimum protection from up to 5,000 mm of rain, meaning the material can withstand a water column of 50 metres before allowing any moisture to penetrate. It is also extremely breathable, making it the perfect companion in wet weather.
The elasticated section at the back, made from Texapore Taslan Stretch 2L, facilitates the wide stretches that are often necessary when climbing and means the jacket is extremely comfortable. With the large size weighing in at just 525g, it is perfect for storing in a backpack.
