If you’ve recently browsed our website or checked out a copy of the Jack Wolfskin catalogue, you might have noticed that alongside our products, we like to include ‘active’ shots so you can see our products in action.
So we thought it would be a good idea to give you an insight into planning these shots for new campaigns and share some impressive images sent to us while Jack Wolfskin’s location scouter was on the ‘set’ of a new location shoot.
Steffen Schneider recently travelled to his chosen location in Norway for the new expedition.
Steffen said: “Preparations have to be made well in advance. We not only need to find the best location but also need to find the best spots to capture the best shots. As a result, we do site inspections and consider every possible situation or obstacle that might occur.”
While on location, the snow meant Steffen and photographer Sebastian were forced to remain at the foot of the mountains and were only able to climb halfway up. With 30 cm of fresh snow in one day, there was significant risk of an avalanche and roads were blocked and required lengthy diversions.
Despite the complications, the location is set to be used to shoot the expedition this month and we’re looking forward to seeing the results!
